A War Worth Fighting
Some cases are not just files. They are wars. This one was a war, and it ended with a life-changing result.
Chris was facing DWI matters in Atlantic City, Atlantic County Central Municipal Court, and Somers Point. A third DWI conviction alone could have meant 180 days in jail and an eight-year loss of license. Across the three DWI charges, the potential exposure included years off the road and more than $14,000 in DWI-related fines, fees, assessments, and surcharges before interlock costs, insurance consequences, towing, court costs, criminal/CDS penalties, and collateral expenses.
That did not happen.
After relentless litigation and negotiation, two of the three DWI charges were dismissed outright. All criminal charges were dismissed and expunged. Chris did no jail. He received no license suspension on the DWI matters. Massive financial exposure was avoided.
This was not a magic trick. It was work. The defense attacked the proof, the timelines, the admissibility issues, the medical and treatment history, and the State’s ability to prove each charge beyond a reasonable doubt.
But Chris also did something that matters: he helped save himself. He completed drug treatment and rehab. He got himself on the right path. He found a passion for helping other people through difficult times and became a drug counselor.
That is the part of the story we are proudest of. A person who was facing jail, years without a license, and multiple criminal cases used the moment to rebuild his life.
We were proud to stand beside him.
